Why should I join the Sentiens Research online panel?
By joining our online panel, you can voice your opinions on products, services and topics that are of interest to you and other residents of Southwestern Ontario. By participating in our surveys you can ensure that your voice is heard. Our projects are interesting and enjoyable, and you will have chances to win valuable prizes just for participating.

How do I join the panel?
Joining our panel is absolutely free. Simply fill out a short registration survey. Click here to get started.

Can other members of my household join?
Yes, other members of your household can join as long as their email address is different from yours. To invite your friends and relatives to join the panel, visit our Refer A Friend page.

How long will it take to complete a survey?
Our surveys generally take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. Each invitation to participate in a survey will tell you how long it should take, and will indicate the deadline to respond. The actual time it takes you to complete a survey may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection or your browser. In accordance with generally accepted market research practices, our surveys display a progress bar for your convenience.

Who are these surveys for?
Our studies are conducted for a variety of local, regional and national businesses and organizations across a broad range of industries. By participating in these surveys you can ensure that these companies and organizations hear your opinion.

How do I win prizes?
Each time you complete a survey, you'll qualify to be entered into a random draw with other qualifying participants. Prizes for surveys vary, but in the past Sentiens panel members have won iPods, $500 shopping gift cards, hockey tickets and even cash prizes of up to $1000. Your chances of winning depend on the number of completed surveys received. Since this is a regional panel, your chances of winning are much higher than with national panels.

How do I know if I am a winner?
Winners are directly notified by email or telephone. Survey winners are also listed on our website. From time to time, we also notify survey participants via email when a winner has been selected.

How long will it be before I receive my reward?
Usually, you can expect to receive your reward within 2-3 weeks of the survey closing date. It may take up to 3-5 weeks, but that’s the exception.

Can I fill out a survey multiple times to increase my chances of winning a prize?
No. Only one completed survey per respondent is permitted. Our system identifies duplicate respondents based on email address, name, phone number, postal code and IP address. We keep the first completed survey response. Multiple responses are automatically removed.

Why do you ask personal information in your surveys?
We ask questions about your demographics (age, employment, marital status, etc.), interests and purchasing behaviours to help us develop general trends about our panel. This information is used to conduct statistical analyses so we can ensure that our sample of respondents is representative of the general population. We also use this information to subdivide the panel into special interest groups and to send you surveys that are more pertinent to your interests and characteristics.

Your surveys seem to ask the same demographic questions each time. Why is this?
We know this may seem unnecessary but it is a common research practice. Demographic information often changes from survey to survey (for example, you change jobs or have a child).

Will you protect personal information that I have given you?
Yes, we will! We base our business on two valuable concepts - trust and quality. We will contact you for market research purposes only. No products or services, other than market research, will ever be offered or sold to you. Your information will be used by Sentiens Research strictly for research purposes. All information you provide us, especially your personal information, is treated confidentially and will be reported to our clients only in the aggregate (in other words, no personal or individual information will be passed on to any third party). For more information, please see our privacy policy.

What will you do with the information I provide?
When we conduct a study, we analyze and summarize results in aggregate only. We never report results on an individual basis. And, we will never disclose your information to a third party. Please see our privacy policy for more details.

I have noticed that some surveys are quite short and others are longer. Also the value of the prize often varies but not necessarily based on the length of the survey. Why is this?
Each study is unique and requires a customized set of questions to meet the research objectives. Sometimes this can best be achieved with a short survey, other times it requires a survey that is longer. The value of the prize offered is based on factors such as the importance of the study, the number of responses required, client budgets and other factors.

How did you get my email address?
All of our members have signed up to be part of our online panel. In some cases, invitations to participate in a survey are sent to non-panel members as well. These email addresses come from lists provided by our clients, referrals from panel members or from email lists that you may have opted into.

How can I opt-out of the panel?
You can opt out at any time. To unsubscribe from the Sentiens Research Panel, please simply select “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of the next email you receive. You can also email us at unsubscribe@sentiensresearch.com, please be sure to include the email address you would like removed, if different from the one you’re sending from.

I have already unsubscribed but I still received email from you. Why?
Sometimes it takes up to two weeks to process your unsubscribe request. During this time you may receive additional email correspondence from us until your unsubscribe request is fully processed. If that happens, we apologize for the inconvenience but assure you that your request to be removed from our lists will be honoured. If you have any concerns, please contact us at info@sentiensresearch.com.

Why do I receive multiple invitations?
This can happen for a number of reasons. For example, you may have provided us with different email addresses. Unless you unsubscribe one of the addresses, both may remain in our system. We strongly encourage you to notify us at info@sentiensresearch.com to advise which email address you would like deleted and which one you would like retained in our database.

I’ve joined your panel but I am not getting any survey invitations. Why is that?
If you haven't done so already, please add us to your “contacts” list, or to your email “safe list”. ISP's change their filters often which may cause your survey invitation to be blocked or sent to your “junk mail” folder. It's a good idea to check your subfolders to make sure you don't miss any of our survey invitations.

I have called your company and asked to be unsubscribed but I still get emails. Why?
Sometimes people who want to unsubscribe leave a message for us but fail to include their email address that would like to have removed. Your email address is the only way we can search for you and ensure you’re removed.

What if I have additional questions?
If you have any additional questions, please e-mail us at info@sentiensresearch.com

If I am having technical problems with a survey, who do I contact?
Send an email to info@sentiensresearch.com. Be sure to include your name and the original survey invitation or the survey link. We often have multiple surveys active at the same time, so this information is important in order to quickly and accurately address your issue.

I’m trying to take your survey, but it is very slow and sometimes stops altogether. What do I do?
Unfortunately, we occasionally experience technical problems with our servers. From time to time, response time can be slow when too many people try to access a survey at the same time. If you can't access a survey or it takes too long to complete a survey, you can always exit and finish the survey at a later time. If you are experiencing long wait periods, or if a survey appears to be unresponsive, please notify us at info@sentiensresearch.com.

What happens if I am in the middle of a survey and either do not have time to finish or lose my connection to the survey?
If you did not complete the survey, you can finish at a later time as long as you are accessing the survey from the same PC. Simply enter as you did originally, using the same URL. You can resume taking the survey where you left off. If a survey has closed by the time you return to it, you will be notified that the survey is no longer active and you will not be able to complete it.
